The City of Gainesville
The City of Gainesville is located at the heart of North Central Florida. It is a rapidly growing place of commerce, business, education, and diversity. Gainesville houses the University of Florida, Shands & AGH, the Hippodrome theatre, and O’Connell Center. People from all over Florida and the world flock to Gainesville for higher education, superior medical attention and treatment, and pure entertainment. Rural areas, such as Lake Alice and the Ichitucknee River create a pleasant getaway for the many students, professors, children, and seniors as well as an educational experience and tourist attraction. To celebrate the diversity of the City of Gainesville, the Department of Cultural Affairs holds Friday night music Downtown from Asian to African to Samba to Rock and Roll. Gainesville’s Downtown Plaza hosts many government buildings such as the County Courthouse and the party scene. Many people take advantage of the many clubs there such as Voodoo, Luna, and Reubar which is why the University of Florida won #1 party school in the nation. Shopping is a great pastime in Gainesville’s two malls, the Oaks Mall and Gainesville Mall, and its many plazas and squares. The Cuisine is pristine everywhere with few exceptions and at affordable prices no matter where you go. Citizens fervently care about the beauty and maintenance of Gainesville. Driving along Archer Road, you would see many people picking up trash and planting trees and flowers as a service to the community. Gainesville is a wonderful place to live; the aura of the community is rich, alluring, and happy.
