In the same year, seven more awards were added to the collection, 1st Place media awards for the Gainesville annual Hoggetowne Medieval Faire, Tree City USA and Tree City USA Growth Award granted by the National Arbor Day Foundation for both 2005 and 2006, The Downtown Festival & Art Show came in as #40 in the nation by Greg Lawler’s Art Fair Sourcebook, The Growth Management Pilot Community award, The Most Technologically Advanced City in Florida and 30th in the whole nation, and The Top Ten Cities in the USA for Outdoor Activities rated by Sperling. In the years to come Gainesville’s schools would take on many title including ranking in the top 2 Institute of Culinary Arts, #4 and #6 best high schools in the nation earned by Eastside High (Go Rams!!!) along with many others. All in all, Gainesville is truly one of the best places to live in the USA for our academic and environmentally-friendly prowess.
